The hemp-derived THC beverage industry is currently facing a potential nationwide ban following the passage of a federal funding bill in late 2025 that closes the legal basis for hemp, making most intoxicating hemp products, including Calexo, illegal by November 2026. This, along with state-level restrictions, threatens to wipe out over 95% of the $24 billion hemp market, impacting jobs and small businesses like breweries that pivoted to producing hemp seltzers.
Without substantial change in the law, we plan on halting THC beverage production and sales before the ban goes into effect.
